B8 S3, what to look out for?

Ok hey guys, signed up months ago was lookin at gettin a gti... that never happened lol, threw the idea on the back burner for a while. but now im back on the market.

went and drive an 08 s3 this arvo, loved it. dont know much about these cars other than theyre awd, 188kw, and basically similar to a golf r...

what i want to know is what do i have to look out for in these cars (ie stuff failing, warranty concerns etc)

and what can be done to these?

    ps im in sydney.

    cheers!

    stef.

look out for things like the cambelts have been done. Also good service history from either an Audi dealer or specialist. The car is a good base package and perform very well after a ecu remap. They are a very tunable car.

Well ideally I wanna give it a bit of poke, so a tune, set of pipes, prob some decent suspension mods too.. I've heard apr tune you can get somewhere around the 230kw out of them. Would an RS3 turbo fit?

Car wont be a daily driver, I get fully maintained company vehicle as it is, but for my Toy I want it a bit faster than stock.

I'd check that the intake ports arent all gummed up! Big problem on the mk5 GTI (and derivatives) direct injection turbo's!

If I was getting a toy it would be more along the lines of a Lotus Elise. Something a bit more Raw, a bit more fun.

The S3/R are great if you need a car that does both.

S3s are totally sic - my good mate has an APR tuned 09 S3 Sportback S Tronic Quattro.

Great base to start tuning with, especially with quattro
