Hi,
I have a 2015 TFSI Q5. It has a P2563 Code: Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor Circuit Range / Performance.
The garage suggest a full turbo replacement, about $6k. They said they replaced a smaller sensor, about $300 worth, but that didn't fix it. I don't know what that was though, sorry.
Does anyone have advice for how to replace just the sensor, not the whole turbo unit (including sensor)?

You should not need a turbo replacement if the turbo itself is still functioning and in good condition. It is likely to be a faulty electronic wastegate actuator or perhaps the wastegate itself that is faulty.....both are parts connected to the turbo and allow the turbo to function as it is designed to function, and if either is faulty or damaged then the turbo will not be productig the power it should be making.
