Audi B8 A4 AWE Exhaust and Eurocode Intercooler pipe.

Last week I received the revised version of the AWE Exhaust and I had it fitted today at City Performance Centre.

We experienced no issues fitting the exhaust but did add an additional hanger at the front of the rear muffler.

I have only driven 50km or so and thought I would post my initial experiences and will update the post as time goes on.

Firstly at idle, the exhaust is hardly noticeable. Cruising at all speeds up to 110km/h there is no drone (at all) and you have to listen really hard to hear the exhaust.

Under light acceleration the exhaust is also very quiet and I would suggest only marginally louder than stock.

I also have noticed with the stronic is that the frequency (sound) of exhaust really changes during gear changes and this may be due to the noise they are known for making while changing gear.

Under hard acceleration is a different story though and the exhaust becomes much louder. I believe based on other posts that do do mellow after a few km's and post my findings in a few more days.

I also installed a eurocode intercooler pipe which can be seen here.

so is this all a good thing?
Sounds perfect to me. Quiet when youre putting around town. Loud when you get right up it.

Have done a few more km's now and the exhaust has mellowed. The boomy noise that I was experiencing has gone. Went for a drive with my family last week and they did not even notice the difference. On the other hand my neighbour who is into cars commented on how good the car sounded.

From a driving perspective all hesitation and turbo lag as such is gone and under acceleration the car pulls cleanly and I am happy with the result. Gave the car a bit of stick today and I can only describe the sound as glorious.

Once again I note that with the revised version I have not yet experienced any droning under normal driving conditions. I have taken some video and will post it up in the next week.
