    Cool audi b3 coupe

    hey guys,

finally got in touch with the sellers brother.rego just finished 8th dec so I have to organise rego after I pick her up.dont think its wise to pay prior to picking it up as some sellers claim their car is immaculant ..dont they??

apparently rta now offer 3 or 6 month rego only online,so ive goto devise some sort of plan to pick her up,get it pink slipped then rego'd online.unless the car is sooooo good that I can get 12 months rego in confidence the car wont blow up on me !!!

he said that both seats dont flop forward and mentioned something about internal issues??? was vague when I asked him if that meant the GB bearing being noisy as that was the only mechanical issue mentioned on the listing.

anything else guys that I should look out for when I look/drive it????

Hmm they were bad for diff bearings, see if it is noisy in every gear, not a bad box to work on mate. The seat issue will be broken cables for sure common as, not too hard to fit either. Im sure it will need wishbone bushes but that is a given anyway on them. Get the Cam belt and tensioner done too. Any dramas or questions on this beastie chime mate done MANY years on these
    Cheers

Technically you bought it off him on ebay and are now in a legally binding contract.

Still if it has lots of big probs he did not mention, I`d be haggling or walking.

At least you got it for cheep.

I still reckon you should get it transported, or rent a trailer and borrow a 4wd. Trying to do a pinkslip and rego in a day in a strange city and a strange car. good Luck.

you have a s2 sitting around mischa???

here is what he listed as being changed,
New tyres, new radiator, new battery, timing belt, new headlight, and most the other parts are in good condition, serviced reglarly

here is what he said had issues,
It's in pretty good condition apart from the following:

    - scratch down the side, wearing gearbox bearings (ul still get 12months or more out of it), passenger seat does not go forward to allow passengers in the back, drivers side elctric window doesnt work

loon,do you know what window regulator corresponds with this car? u got one maybe???

so far he told me both seats dont work.if there is more than that and it is something serious, then stuff paying 1800 or maybe even taking it.he said driving back to syd will not be a problem.
I have a sneaky way of bringing it back as long as the car is relatively in a sound state.

    will keep u guys informed.

Adelaide is cheaper than Sydders Robin, most trailer places are $70 for 4 hours.

Go the sneaky way I reckon George.
