Hi,
recently I bought a fixer. An Audi A6 1997 (C5 not C4).
Requiring interior and pannel work. I've got a retrim kit made
but are having trouble removing the headlinning. The head linner
is stuck on a compressed matirial backing. This seems slightly damp
and is also stuck to the underside of the roof. In attepting to remove
it appears it will tear, if too much force applyed. Any idears how to
remove safely.
I,m also chasing parts for this car at a resnable price. Can anyone help?
Alright, I can't imagine it is much different than my b5 a4. For which you need to remove the oh sh|t handles, dome lights, a, b, and c pillars, sun roof controls, all window/door trims that touch the headliner and passenger seat (to make it easy). You remove the passenger seat to allow you to easily get the headliner out the passenger door. You don't have to remove the seat, but the extra 20 minutes makes install and removal a breeze. Everything should fall down on a stiff backed and padded card that you then pass through the passenger door.
Good luck!
EDIT: Oh, also sun visors and visor clips.
