    1.8T boost level advice needed

    Hi guys,

I have a feeling my 8N TT may be down on power, I dont have any DTCs showing atm

I did a log of the MAF and boost levels, I think I may have a leak. Basically 2nd gear WOT, didnt have private road for third

Any feedback on would be great

Is it chipped? TBH you need to do that in a taller gear mate. It's all over too quick, requested boost is behind actual but in second gear that's no real surprise.

Try a pull from 1500 as quick as you dare in 3rd.

log me 020 as well instead of 031 on another run, so we can see the timing pull.

Thanks heaps Gavin, im new to playing around with the 1.8T. As far as I know the car is stock, what can I check that would indicate chipping? I suppose higher MAF g/s reading?

Looking at the requested boost I am pretty confident that it isn't. I'd be expecting a bit more, same with the MAF reading.

If you run the logs in 3rd you get more samples and a better idea of what's going on.

Will do, thanks a million. I am thinking of getting a remap, is it ok with everything totally stock? Also can it be done by a ECU dump by myself and logging? I see you do remaps

Yeah, I have done standard and modified TT/S3s. I have a separate lead for flashing ECUs and would carry out logging afterwards to confirm there's no gremlins.

Can you confirm your engine code, APX or BAM maybe? Phase 1 tune for it would be $699.

The car needs to be running well in standard form before flashing, good plugs maybe coilpacks and DV.

Much the same as my S3 then with bolt down coilpacks. Which are supposed to be more reliable than the push on ones on the BAM. Except one of mine died last week, prompting me to upgrade to push on. No dramas since.

Check your DV out the standard ones are usually split and leaking.

Is this procedure correct on DV testing?

press the diaphragm up, put your thumb on the top nipple, and then release the diaphragm. There should be suction created on the top of the DV that prevents the diaphragm from returning

Use the end of a pen to push diaphragm up?
