You would think a spare tyre was a given, especially for a 4x4 in Australia, but as far as I can tell, an actual spare tyre (space saver) is an additional cost option for the Yeti in every other market.
I've (briefly) driven the Sportage Diesel and I was quite impressed, although I haven't driven a VW/Skoda Diesel to compare it with. And as Transporter said, the ix35 certainly doesn't drive well and I'm sure the Sportage doesn't either.
Last I read, the wait time was now more like 2-3 months and I recently saw a Sportage Platinum diesel sitting on display in a dealer's yard so you don't necessarily have to wait. In any case, as you said, the wait for the Yeti is likely to be just as long, if not longer.Sportage Platinum/SLi diesels have a minimum six-month waiting list too I might add.
If that is the case, then I may not be getting a Yeti........The Yeti you want will end up costing $45k I reckon.
