Has anyone tried replacing the day running lights with brighter LEDs-

This is something that I want to do too. The current lights are so yellow they look out of place and date the vehicle.

change them for LEDs. then buy an adaptor that has the required resistors in it. Or buy your own from jaycar and install them yourself.

I think you will be hard pressed to find an LED that wont cause 'errors'

I've been reading up on it and apart from being a fiddly job the big negative is having the resistor/heatsink that uses the power you are saving. They get very hot and a few people have changed back because of their concerns and others because of the error getting triggered.
I'll wait until a better solution is found.
