We are looking at expanding our fleet with a slightly larger vehicle than our current Swb MY11 T5 DSG (183K km)
Have found an ok private deal on a MY16 Crafter 35 TDI300 MWB Manual with under 60k on the Odometer. 60k service has been done early for presale. Van is kitted out almost exactly as we need except it’s a 2 seater and would have preferred 3.
Is there anything in particular I should look out for? Service history is complete (all 3 of them)
Price is under 30k
There are a few MY18/19 models could be had for around 10-15k more. Worth stumping up a bit more $ for the newer model?

Hi mate. Definitely if you can stretch it the new Crafter is worth it. I’ve picked mine exactly month ago and really enjoy it.

It’s a bit of a stretch as we could buy the older one outright but would have to finance the new model. However rates are as low as 2% so could be feasible.
Any experience with the 300tdi vs the 340tdi. It’s an 80kw vs 105kw. I am used to the 103kw in my T5 and wondering the smaller engine will be inadequate in the bigger vehicle.

The 80kW old Crafter is a bit underpowered and also the suspension and brakes are suited to 80kW. I’ve heard from the drivers that it’s gutless when going Up the hill.
Take both for the test drive. The new is the powerhouse compared to the old one especially the 80kW one.

My 09 80kw is setup for a motorhome with a total weight of 3.5t.
It had 280,000kl on when I bought it 12mths ago, it now has 310,00 and has traveled the width of Australia, Melb-Perth-Melb twice with no issues whatsoever other than a faulty (?) oil pressure swith.
I'm happy with it for our purposes.
What weights do you envisage carrying in yours ??

Check the GVM, you maybe on or over the limit.
Personally I’d save my money, if employees drives the van.
