Looking at VW Germany's website I downloaded a brochure and it refers to an 8-speed automatic in fwd/rwd/awd versions. Didn't seem to say dsg....also bit odd that no 150kW version is listed, top unit so far is shown as a 130kW/410Nm unit.

I find it interesting that a torque converter 8 Speed auto is the standard transmission for all powertrains. Should definately make it a more smoother drive inner city/CBD stop-start driving.
I think it also highlights how underwelming the T6 update was over the T5 in comparison to what the new Crafter will offer, provided VW Aust increases the choices and options. The rear seats in a Crafter Crew cab shows up the "surf-board' flat offering in a T6 Cab chassis.
