Iveco Daily 4x4 - So where's VWs version

...because this thing is getting a 2008 release in Oz with a 3 litre 130kW common rail TDi motor, 2 speed transfer case and three diff locks.

And I think I want one!!! Even if it does cost seventy grand.

So where's the one from VW???

    Hey Wino.......yep that's what I thought....and I've the same rig!!

$70K is a guess on my part. It's based on the fact that the nearest 2WD equivalent, the 50C18 Crew Cab currently costs around 60 grand....but in truth it'll probably be more given the way this thing is equipped

Wonder how the Crafter Atacama is progressing?

the syncro is a great thing, I could just use some more offroad ability (ground clearance for starters)

realisticly though, at that price point it starts to compeate with the ford F series .. and rightly or not, alot of folk will feel better handing over thier money for the ford.

Any other details of this IVECO?

We can help with syncro ground clearance....

Ford F-series aren't available anymore....the nearest competitor to this on the market is the Mitsubishi Canter 4x4 and the Isuzu NPS250 4x4. Which are carts by comparison.

The photos are of the prototype which appears to be based on the 50C18 which is equivalent to the Crafter. So all those features would carry over. Except this one has a leaf sprung front end...unlike the torsion bars of the 50C18. As for the rest...have to wait and see.

VWs version for now will only be the T5 4Motion Double Cab Chassis/Tray.

In the future we will 100% have the new 1 Tonne pick up known by VWCV as RPU.

As for the Crafter 4x4 not sure for now ????
VWCV Aust. have stated if market demands it they will sell it.

    EDIT

Crafter 4x4s are converted by Austrian 4x4 Specialists Achleitner.

It should be available as a special order, how ever my dealer informed me that it can't be ordered. Off-Road and On-Highway With Volkswagen

So, after 10 years driving T5 4Motion, I'm in a need of a bigger van to carry all the equipments plus some spares, I will have to order the Sprinter 4x4 by the fall of the year.
