Basically mostly No.2 segment and may pinch some sales from the No.1 group mostly fleet IMO.
I wonder, with the lower starting prices of the new Jetta, what its competitors are going to be...
1.The top trims of cars like the sedan versions of Corolla,Civic,Mazda 3,Lancer,Cruze,and Focus,as in America, where it is selling better than ever before, OR
2.Against thr traditional mid sized sedans,such as Camry,Accord Euro,Mazda 6,Kizashi,I45,and Optima ???
This will be interesting to see...

thats a tricky one aint it. if i'm not mistaken, its larger than most cars in group 1 yet smaller than those in group 2.

Much like the MK5 Jetta...
Today's melbourne herald sun paper states its main competitors will be in the form of the mazda 3 and corolla, i.e. the best selling small cars.
The review of the jetta is very positive.
MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.
Most likely group no. 2.
It would be nice if they made the 147TSI more sporty though - like the GLI model in the US. A Jetta coupe (if it becomes a reality) in GLI/GTI form would sell like hotcakes.
