As I have said before, this car is vital to VW worldwide.
The Jetta is the VW groups 3rd most popular model worldwide, selling 700 000 units last year.
Since launch, over 9 million have been sold, and this is the companys top seller in various important markets, such as America ,and China.
The current Jetta is built in 5 countries, and since 2006,13000 Jetta 5 models have been sold in Australia.
It should be available locally in June 2011,as it will be launched in the USA in October ,and the rest of the world later on.

It competes in the very competitive sedan class, starting with the top of the ranges small cars like Civic,Corolla, and Mazda 3.
Then it will fight with the benchmark medium sedans, like Honda Accord Euro and Mazda 6,and then even try steal a few sales away from the prestige compact sedans, like the Audi A4,Mercedes C class, and BMW 3 series.

    Interesting times ahead...

But VW America want to sell 160 000 units a year.

    2000px versions available on AUSmotive.

I reckon the Jetta looks pretty good. Some of the finer details that have been lost from the NCC are a bit of a shame, but overall, its a thumbs up from me.

Now that IS a nice nice car.
Looks as if my extended warrenty option on Golf waste of money? (Although should transfer on trade in?)
Hope finances improve, so can obtain one.

If it's the genuine Volkswagen Factory Extended Warranty, then yes, it does transfer.

I do hope that they do release a coupe version of this - even if it's just in the sporty versions or something
