Yeah they won't be replacing the car for you. Just book it in and get them to look at it.
Hi,
We bought a new Jetta last Friday. On the drive home and Saturday (which was our real first use) we saw that the entertainment unit was constantly restarting, the maps in the GPS would not work and the parking assist would not come up a couple of times...... when the unit was stable.
We also noticed that when the unit restarted if we had the phone plugged in it would interrupt the power flow to the phone. I'm really worried that this is an electrical problem rather than a screen or computer problem. Am I entitled to ask VW to replace the car ?
Thanks
J

No, you need to give them a chance to fix it.
Suggest you document the process.

Thanks woofy, thanks Brad.
Some time has passed and it has back from a friend that a lot of the new Golf and Jetta have problems with the entertainment units. Apparently a software update fixes this. Apparently not for us though. They are ordering a new one which will take 2-3 weeks. One the managers also contacted us to say the vehicle he bought for his wife had the same problem and that she almost had an accident because she was using the parking camera and the unit failed/restarted on her. The same guy assured me that it is not a broader electrical issue and I have that in writing so I am now happy for them to repair the display.
