my old man has a jetta 125 tdi 2010 model DSG done like 32,000kms
Ive been told in the past that timing belts can wear out due to age not just kms
What is the recommended thing to do re the timing belt in this car?
Change it or leave it till 7 years / 105k?
Is it easy for mechanic to inspect it or will that be a few hours labour?
If deciding to change it should you also change water pump and anything else?

im thinking around 2k-2.5 at an independent for that?
Are there any other known issues or maintenance items coming up on this car?
I am aware of break fluid flush every 2 years is there anything else?
Prices can vary, but I doubt you'd pay that much from an independant.
30K is a basic service, plus pollen filter, 45K is basic service plus air filter.
Major is at 60K, so on top of the basic oil and filter, you'll do the DSG service, fuel filter and pollen filter.
75K is a basic service, 90K is a basic plus air and pollen filters.
These are usually pretty reliable. The only thing that might fail on it is the intake flap/throttle valve. Being an MY10, it might already have the revisied part on it.

its a late 2010 model like oct/nov build i think so maybe a my11?
so yeah i dont do many kays myself maybe 10k a year so it will be a while before the major hits me
Its a pleasant car to drive i just wish he got the 147 which was way more responsive for the same price

At the moment the independent i take it to seems to be very good and professional. Some things were a bit exxy but its a vw not a toyota so i expected that. He is cheaper then the dealer by far.
You won't even pay 2-2.5k for a timing belt change (including waterpump and tensioner and rollers) they usually are around the $1000-1300 mark at VW dealers.
