I have made some minor control module changes via VCDS to my new Golf TDi I was wondering if general changes like convenience turn signal, tear drop rear wiper, etc would be noticeable to my VW service centre.
I really don't want them coming to me preaching about this and how I will void my warranty etc etc.
Has anyone had any problems in this regard?
Thanks
Brett

Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
In my effort to fit RNS510 to my Golf R, I coded everything to work but I just couldn't get the RVC to work.
In the process, I changed a few things eg conv lane change 4 flashes instead of 3, lock/unlock chirp along with numerous faults.
So I asked my dealer to put everything back to how it left the factory. They complied and all was good, however the changes I made, remained. So I wouldn't worry about the dealer looking too closely, and at the end of the day, as Transporter says, it is you car. You paid for it.
Finally, I got the RNS510 to see the RVC.
I figured it wouldn't be an issue. I get the feeling they would look no further than to scan for errors. Mine has none as you would hope at 1200kms.
Thanks guys.

As it turns out the dealer said nothing. They ran their scans and found no errors. They checked some live data eith the engine running then checked the car over for leaks etc and gave it back.
So I suppose unless you looked at the specific data that I changed in the CM you would never know.
All good.

Seeing as the dealership can do most of the alterations themselves if you ask, I wouldn't think they would care...

I think I left my VCDS cable in the door pouch last time I got my car serviced
Obviously no issues raised.
