VCDS For 6R Polo (primarily GTI)

    Needle Sweep:
Found under instruments, known as "Staging". Controller unavailable on my specific GTI. Apparently only available on the GTI instument cluster...
Door auto lock at 15kph: Have tried and activated relevant module, not happening
Hatch auto lock at 15 KPH: See above
Comfort indicater: flash count changed from 3 flashes to 4, found under the "comfort" measuring block

just as a follow up, found that my car had the wrong software installed for all the comfort and convenience control module, possibly could explain why certain things didn't happen when activated....

Hi everyone - I'm new to VW Polo ownership - is turning door and hatch auto lock something my local dealer can do on my Polo GTI or do I have to take it to a tuner with the VCDS package?

Got a few good ones here, especially for the GTI owners out there!

In VCDS Select Control Module, go to 03 ABS Brakes, then 10 Adaptation, go to Channel:

    Channel 09 Brake Assist
There are 3 settings for this
    0-center (stock setting)
    1-small
    2-hard

The stock setting is 0, change it to 2 and this makes the brake pedal more responsive to smaller inputs. Feels more positive in use, especially under enthusiastic motoring.

    Channel 36 XDS
    There are 3 settings
    0-center (stock setting)
    1-weak
    2-strong

Change this from 0 to 2 and this one mod alone apparently makes the Polo into a different/better beast under hard driving.
Seems more planted around bends and that much better to push through the corner on exit. This mod comes with a five thumbs up...

Nice work, gavs! Will you/ have you changed your software, given they installed the wrong stuff?

Also, is it just me? Isn't making 0 the middle setting on those controls ridiculous? Logically, 0 should provide weakest settings, 1 centre and 2 hard. That was my assumption when I read your braking thread in the Polo 6r section. Thanks for referring me here.

Changed these settings last week and WOW what a difference with the XDS setting at strong. Definitely noticeably flatter over corners and the steering seems a tad heavier too. Should have been like this from the dealership!!
The brake assist set to hard didn't seem too much different except unless I press down half pedal then it seems to stop bit harder than normal.

I'd love to be able to disable Daytime Headlights (different to DRLs) on my car, but I've got halogens not xenons - can anyone help??

Have a look in this thread:

How to deactivate daytime running lights?

    Works perfectly.
