In VCDS Select Control Module, go to 03 ABS Brakes, then 10 Adaptation, go to Channel:

    Channel 09 Brake Assist
There are 3 settings for this
    0-center (stock setting)
    1-small
    2-hard

The stock setting is 0, change it to 2 and this makes the brake pedal more responsive to smaller inputs. Feels more positive in use, especially under enthusiastic motoring.

    Channel 36 XDS
    There are 3 settings
    0-center (stock setting)
    1-weak
    2-strong

Change this from 0 to 2 and this one mod alone apparently makes the Polo into a different/better beast under hard driving.
Changed these settings last week and WOW what a difference with the XDS setting at strong. Definitely noticeably flatter over corners and the steering seems a tad heavier too. Should have been like this from the dealership!!
The brake assist set to hard didn't seem too much different except unless I press down half pedal then it seems to stop bit harder than normal.

Evening, just got some time at work to try the "indicator celebration" on my 13.5 GTI and it does work, not sure if it has been covered earlier.

have a future project in mind and was wondering who would be best to help out with the coding side of things. Not sure if this has been done to a polo yet so need the best person for the job.

Basically, i'm looking for a VCDS guru in melb or syd (prefer melb but willing to travel to sydney get this done). would love to chat more by pm, trying to keep this sneaky untill its compleated... though now buy posting this people will be curious.... still not telling...

    thanks in advance,

Does anyone have the same problem as me where ABS > Adaptation > Channel 36 is "not accessible". I've tried VCDS 11 and 12 beta and have the HEX+CAN cable. Channel 36 is supposed to be the XDS channel but it must be a new controller. There is no documentation drop-down either. I'm keen to get and XDS or EDL settings for this car.

I think it's an MY11 thing because it has the 1-digit steering weight setting rather than the older 2-digit. I guess XDS may have changed too but nobody's documented the new settings

I am in Orange and happy to assist. Realistically, you would be better buying a cable instead of fuel. The program isn't hard to use as long as you keep a log of pre and post settings to change back. VCDS generally won't let you do dopey things.

I'm hoping someone can help me with two annoying "features" on my new GTI please:

    1) I often like to drive with the climate control set to low without AC (i.e. just fresh air). When you turn off the ignition and later come back to the car the climate control defaults to "22C with AC". Is there any way to change the default to low with no AC?

    2) Is there a way to change the default zoom level on the nav maps in the RNS510? It seems to default to "outer-space" distance so every time you get in the car you have to zoom back into 100m level. Don't want to wear out the dial

    Many thanks.

I have discovered these few channels in the ABS module.

    Channel 21 SMALL/LARGE
    Channel 35 ON/OFF
    Channel 51 ENABLED/DISABLED
    Channel 58 Center/EARLY/LATE
    Channel 73 On/OFF

Any VAG VCDS experts know what these controls? I am trying to delay ASR activating which allows some slipping and if possible activating it only after 30km/h
