Ain't nothing "Bloody Brilliant" at all about the Total Car Diagnostic's cables mentioned in this thread - because they are entirely bogus. Sure the associated software for the cable is GENUINE, but Total Car Diagnostics have simply downloaded Ross-Tech's original software(now obsolete) and applied it to fake hardware (which they claim is "third party" if you read the fine-print) for which there is no license.
Fact is that both the ver 12 and ver 14 cables are complete fakes (as suspected by the Hawk). They are both rip-offs of the Genuine version cables and Total Car Diagnostics is on Ross-Tech's "naughty list" for possible further action (I believe).
Entirely up to you (assuming that you don't have any affiliation with Total Car Diagnostics), but those purchasing these cables simply condone the theft of Uwe Ross's Intellectual Property (and don't be fooled by the notion that the buyer is somehow removed from the act of thieving because he/she are just the buyer).

Vexed: I'm not repentant in saying that I have never understood the morality of buyer's who simply ignore IP theft by prostituting their values for the sake of saving a few bucks - makes me so angry when a relatively small company like Ross Tech has built-up such a good product and a reputation for quality over many years, only to have poachers like Total Car Diagnostics trash Uwe Ross's efforts !!
The despicable actions of companies like Total Car Diagnostics only succeed because there are buyers who are willing to participate in the malfeasants!
Here endeth the tirade - but it needed to be said (I think)!
Don
PS: I'm more than happy to debate the merits of buying these (fake) cables with forum colleagues who have knowingly made the dubious decision to purchase them - but let's do it here in public and not by PM (as some have done in the past)

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
