mine works in Windows 10. what you can try is reinstall the VCDS software

Yes, try a re-install. It works on my laptop with 10.
hmm........ What version of VCDS cable do you have? Like Ops above, I've been using my HEX+CAN with previous version SW successfully on Window 10 for quite a while (64 Bit operating system).
I also recently upgraded to the latest version software (Beta 16.3.1.1) - re-flashed the firmware in the cable and not a problem using windows 10.
Have you pressed the "save" button after testing the USB port - after using the newly loaded software for the first-time?

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
It's most likely a Win 10 issue with your PC, release version & current beta certified & working correctly on Windows 10.
