New VAG-COM user - needing a little advice

    Hi,

As per another thread Off throttle - the car seems to continue to fuel itself I'm chasing an issue with my Mark 6 GTI.

I've completed a diagnostic scan and only one fault was found. It relates to the flap within climate control so not an issue relating to the above.

From what I can see under OBD-II option I can only monitor four parameters when I click Mode 1 Read Data.

I found the Lambda sensor. as I understand it:
1 volt = perfect fuel burn
less than 1 volt = rich
    over 1 volt = lean
1.99999 (or 2 volt) = no fuel burn. i.e out of the throttle but in gear over a certain rev threshold before the car starts to add fuel for idle purposes.

What I was able to demonstrate was:

Driving around with my foot on the throttle the lambda value was 0.88 - 0.98
    Once off the throttle but still in gear the value remains around 1.03-1.05 for around two seconds then;
the value of the Lambda jumps to 1.999

Now the other vaules I selected I thought were physical throttle position and virtual throttle position. (or called something like that).

My question to the gurus out there.

    1. What four values would you monitor to help me capture the fact that the car is continuing to add fuel whilst the actual throttle is closed.

    I was thinking
    Throttle position
virutal throttle (i.e what the car is adding)
    lambda
    fuel delivery.

Or am I going about this the wrong way?

Minke: Have you looked at the Ross Tech Wiki for answers to your questions (even perhaps putting your questions directly to Uwe Ross on the RT forum)?
For example, have you read THIS?

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

Cheers. I've never heard of fuel trim before. I'm on the forum, but not verified yet. I plan to post a question
