It SHOULD be. I got a cheap cable from eBay which doesn't work. Very annoying. Hence now I'm askin if anyone has a cable that works.

It's possible up to Gen 4 immobilisers as far as i am aware, anything with a PIN. After that it is all online.

Call Carl at CQ Auto Electrics in Richmond Melbourne. He has the full AVDI interface (license costs tens of thousands) and can retrieve the full EEPROM including PIN up to latest IMMO I believe ... at least Mk6 gen stuff. Costs $100 though. Tell him I sent ya
For Mk4 gen Immo stuff the ebay cable works fine ... did for me anyway.
