I can't get my B6 Passat to beep when i lock/unlock it.

Hi all,

noob here.
Just wondering if anyone could tell me why i can't get my car to beep when i lock or unlock the car?
I see the option in VCDS but i can't change the value to 3 or 4 then save it. It'll only let me save 0 or 1.

0 = Confirmation OFF
1 = Confirmation via Blinker/Turn Signal
2 = Confirmation via Beep/Horn
3 = Confirmation via Beep/Horn & Blinker/Turn Signal

Does it have an alarm fitted? I maybe wrong, but I thought the beeps come from the alarm speaker/siren.

No i don't have an alarm!
I had no idea that you needed an alarm, i thought it just used the horn to do the "beeping".

Can anyone confirm that an alarm is required?

The beep comes from the alarm siren... Once the alarm system stuffs up, like it did in our Eos, it won't do the locking chirp anymore
