Hi all:
I have a MY12 Skoda Superb Elegance with a retrofit RVC that would display on the RNS510 screen. However, the problem I'm facing is that every time I put on R gear, the default OPS show up. To switch to RVC, I have to press on a little icon on the screen. Once I'm in the RVC screen, I lose the OPS, even though there is still a space on the left hand side where normally the radar screen of the OPS would show in a factory fitted RVC in VW models. The dealer told that's the way it suppose to work, and that space on the left is only for cars fitted with park assist. (Now I know it's all bull****!)
Also, when I am doing 3 point turns, after I put in D, and then back to R, the OPS doesn't come up, and hence I can't switch to RVC at all. This makes the RVCs usefulness really restricted.
I had a discussion in the Superb forum and someone suggested I need to use VCDS to turn on the RVC mode, a simple 2 step process, that will make it same as any factory fitted one. I was gonna go back to dealer to fix it as they fitted the RVC (and charged me a whopping $1000 for it!), but many people told me it is a waste of time as most dealer don't know what they are doing, and it is better off to find help from a VW enthusiast.
So here I am, asking for help to anyone in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area, who has VCDS and has experiences in enabling retrofit RVCs. I'm happy to pay a small fee to enable the RVC (please PM me how much you would charge). Thank you!
If it works, it will make Superb the perfect car!
It worked!!
Now I have a perfect Superb (almost) that shows RVC screen with OPS on the left side! Just like a factory fitted one.
Thanks for the help
