Golf R Exhaust Valves de-mod

Hi All,

I recently purchased an MY15 Golf R and the exhaust valves are permanently open.

Using OBDeleven, I did output tests on both the left and right sides and could clearly hear the flaps opening and closing. But whenever I read the live data, they are set to open at 90% each side. I tried eco mode, normal mode, race mode, individual and it made no difference. I even enable and disable the exhaust valves, still no change.

I plugged the obdeleven into my mate's golf r and even sitting in the driveway, eco mode, valves shut, race mode, valves open. Clearly there is something up with my car, but I cant seem to figure out how to reverse it.

Any help is appreciated.

The likelihood is the car has been refreshed/tuned by whomsoever owned it as this is one of the most common things changed in the reflash business.
