coding out oil level/temp sensor VW Polo 9N3 gti

    Hi all,

I have an INA sump that I'm about to put on. It has no relief or mounting point for the OEM oil level/temp sensor. I'll be running a dedicated oil temp/pressure gauge and want to do away with this sensor. I'd read that I could simply bridge pins 1 and 3 in the plug. Whilst I don't get the chime, I'm still getting the oil light on the dash about every second time I start the car, so bridging hasn't worked and is a bit ghetto anyway.
I've read that the instrument cluster can be recoded with VCDS to erase the dash lights. I'm able to read out the instrument code but was hoping some one might know which digit I need to change (and to what) and the procedure for doing the recode. any help massively appreciated I'd really like this sump to be in for the next meet.

    thanks
    sam
