Saw my first RS wagon not in a showroom this afternoon in Macleod (melb).
Sure has a presence on the road, it was black with dark tint. Must say the bonnet emblem sure stands out. I hope the Anthracite looks as good.
Should be unloaded by the end of the year but will hold it on the docks to get 2010 compliance. Were in no hurry but look forward all the same.

IMHO there's no point in doing that. Buyers of s'hand cars place far more importance on the build date than the compliance date, even MY is more relevant. Get the car as soon as it arrives in Oz and start enjoying it
If you must, order one to be actually built in 2010 (but then you probably won't be driving it until march/april).
2017 MY18 Golf R 7.5 Wolfsburg wagon (boring white) delivered 21 Sep 2017, 2008 Octavia vRS wagon 2.0 TFSI 6M (bright yellow), 2006 T5 Transporter van 2.5 TDI 6M (gone but not forgotten).
Most people look at the rego sticker and for the sake of a couple of weeks Ill wait. Besides it will be nice to have one of the first 2010 reg cars around
Twenty years ago being an 09 or 10 complied car would have made a reasonable difference in the resale value but now it has no monetary effect at all when a car is a couple years old.
Waiting till January will just mean prolonging the anticipation normally associated with Christmas.
On a recent trip to Madrid, I was surprised to see that roughly two thirds of all the taxis I saw were Skoda Octavias. Doesn't say much for the equivalent Seat model (Leon, I think).
Saw a red Octavia wagon at the roundabout on the intersection of Glenfern Rd, Brenock Park Drv and Cornhill St in Ferntree Gully late yesterday afternoon when taking my nephew out for a driving lesson. The people in it seemed pretty pleased to see another Skoda and were smiling and waving. I smiled and waved back.
