Doncaster is our PMA so Skoda wont allow them to setup camp there...

Hmm maybe one around Burwood like I mentioned would be better placed. There is nothing out that way, and a lot of people buying cars. Although it's big business for chinese residents buying asian sourced cars, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda all do well around there, the others not so much.

It's interesting how the car companies can still manage to get away with agreements that effectively consitute a restraint of trade. I wonder what would happen if somebody took them to court over one. Of course it will never happen though.

Saw 3 FL TSI Octavia Wagons today within 30 seconds of each other on Chruch St bridge over the Yarra in Richmond. A Silver, White & Gold. Seriously thought it was a Skoda convention!

    Common Now?

Though I understand this thread was very neccessary in times gone past I don't really get the point any more. I very rarely go a day without seeing a Skoda or more in Brisbane eg I was beside a member here (Tunes?) in his white RS wagon yesterday morning, a black diesel pre FL wagon yesterday afternoon and saw a FL Scout in white this morning.

Good to see but hardly seems worth reporting now. I think Skoda are definitely "here to stay".

Just wish I could get one soon!!!

I also note that Europcar has a substantial of Octavias on their fleet. I see these regularly. I saw a cappucino Scout yesterday morning parked just before the southern side of the Storey Bridge.

Europcar have quite a lot, I saw 5 at Townsville one day out in the middle of nowhere that came from Europcar, and I was in one as well.

Canyonman, every man and his dog reports the almost routine GTi or Mk4 seen in the other spotted thread, so the purpose doesn't really matter.

KIWI if McDonalds can stop Hungry Jacks being kms away from any of their restaurants, then anything goes. In Toowoomba there were several McDs all owned by the same couple, one in the city centre, one south and they planned to put one North. In the North far reaches there was a Hungry Jacks that had been there a long long time, they were the only one in a city of 100k. They planned to build one in the South about 6km away from the McDonalds there. Their building was half finished when McDs protested and prevented it from opening. They never have and its 10 yrs on. 6 Mths later they put a brand new McDs across the road from the Hungry Jacks. Literally a stones throw away. Of Course the owners of McDs in Toowoomba probably were in the pockets of Toowoomba council, but I'm sure the weight of McDs legal team were there behind the scenes as well. Seeing as its all one brand I reckon it would be dead easy for VW/Skoda to spread them out. Ever noticed how few and far between Honda dealers are...they must get pretty protective of their patches.

They're not quite as common over here - for the first time ever at the weekend, I saw two in one drive (including another yellow one! w00t!). I remarked to the other half at the time that maybe it meant they were becomming a bit more common...but aside from that, I do agree that reporting one every time I see one is less interesting now than it was 12+ months ago.

I agree. Whilst I can't say i see a Skoda everyday I do often see several in the same day and I very rarely bother to post sightings here. As I've said once before I have now been driving around Melbourne for 9 months, 17,000km and nobody has "spotted" me so this thread isn't really any reflection of anything significant. It's a bit of fun for some people I guess and it's doesn't do any harm so my vote is just to leave it and it will eventualy die.
