I didn't really buy the diesel version for it's "sound", although i did love the exhaust note of the RS petrol, and the throttle response - it almost swayed me. But the diesel had me for economy and torque/towing power.

Huh !!!! What exhuast note on the RS petrol ? I can barely hear mine even at 6k rpm !

Try sitting in the rear seat, there definitely is an exhaust note.....people always know when I'm coming even though I can't hear it much.

I am sure I am seeing more and more Skodas and especially Octavias on the road. Saw another two TDI wagons on the way to work this morning - one silver one black (in Brisbane). Anyone know the end of year Skoda figures from VFacts?

vRS FL Wagon turning north into Springvale Road (at Maroondah Highway) at about 11.40 this morning. It was like dancing vRS's in the middle of the intersection.

That's also the first Skoda I have seen towing a trailer.

Do any of you do "The Wave".

I always did "The Nod" when I had the motorbike - especially with other Bimmer riders.

We are a select group, us Skoda folk. The wave to fellow owners should be explained in the owners manual.

I have never been able to do the 'wave' lol. Every time I see one, I am not in my own so I don't want to look like a wally giving the 'wave' I have only ever seen 4 other RS's on the road in the flesh. See heaps of Europcar ones though.

I've spotted an Octavia Scout in Dulwich Hill Sydney - oops, that would be mine. I even put a sticker on the rear window last night so that my wife would be able to find ours amongst all the others in a car park!
