Yes it was a FL and judging by the gloss on the paint I'd say brand new.
Silver pre FL Octavia sedan (not a vRS) in Wandin East this morning. Three big, I would say locals in it and a big "Diesel only" sticker on the fuel filler flap.
Sounds like a Europcar rental, they always put that sticker on the fuel door...so dummys don't use the wrong fuel.
Logical. I hope mine never sounds as clattery and truck like as that one.
Bloke across road has one year old Passat, rattles more than an old lady does in the morning, one of the reasons we got petrol.

The newer Common Rail (CR) diesels dont have as much of the "diesel rattle" as the earlier PD engines. Also depends on what diesel fuel you run in your vehicle makes a difference also - stay away from Bio-diesel!! The good stuff is BP Ultimate diesel and caltex Vortex diesel - these are the new premium diesels on the market and helps reduce that "rattle".
I didn't really buy the diesel version for it's "sound", although i did love the exhaust note of the RS petrol, and the throttle response - it almost swayed me. But the diesel had me for economy and torque/towing power.
Oh and by the way to stay on the thread - I saw a black Pre-FL RS Sedan TFSI near the round about at Maitland (NSW) Hospital a couple of days ago. Looked good!!
