    Skoda extended warranty

Is there a Skoda extended warranty or is it just what the dealer sells? How much should I expect to pay for an extra 2 years when buying a new 77 TSI Fabia?

The dealer sells the Skoda extended warranty and it is underwritten by Allianz. There have been a few posts around about the extended warranty and how much it costs. Some have been quoted up to $2600 for 2 years and others around $1400. I got 2 years extended thrown in with the deal which was fine by me because it now equals my lease period. I got my confirmation of the extension the other day and it also extends the roadside assistance to 5 years.

search the rest of the forum as you can buy it from a VW dealer as well. Prices vary by many $$. You can leave it until just before the 3 year warranty expires. No advantage in buying now

I just bought a Octavia VRS
The standard extended warranty is free and simply requires you to get the regular servicing done at the dealer
The premium extended warrenty was priced at $1400 but they will discount to $980

If you read the limitations on these you may well come to the conclusion it's not worth paying for
Each claim amount is capped and total claim amounts are capped, to about what you paid for the extended warranty!
If you don't pay and are lucky to not need to claim, you are ahead
If you have a major problem, you will be seriously out of pocket anyway

    (Just my view)

I don't believe either of the warranties you are talking about are the VW Extended warranty underwritten by Allianz. VW dealers also sell other warranties.

The only advantage in buying now would be as a hedge against inflationary price increases in the next 3 years.

    Thanks everyone.

Today I tracked down a copy of the Skoda extended warranty (from Allianz). It certainly looks a better policy than the one the dealer was offering.
