What fuel economy are Fabia owners getting out in the real world?
Most interested in base model, 77TSI manual.
Please also mention what sort of driving you do - city/country/mix, and are you lead-footed or feather-footed?
thanks

I can't help you with the 77tsi, but I can give you an idea of what I get from the 132 DSG. I would average 8L/100km over the course of a week, which works out to about 50/50 city/country. I do like to give it a bit of a boot every now and then (well you would with one of these, wouldn't you?)
I find it hard to get near the official figures even on long runs if it's hot, a/c is on, any slight uphill gradient is involved and/or I have passengers. Basically, if conditions aren't perfect, economy will suffer. And I mean this in comparison to my old car, a Ford Focus 4-speed auto 2L. That car would always be less than it's combined 8.2L/100km rating on a long-ish run, whereas the Fabia is only occasionally below its 6.2L/100 rating in a comparable situation.
In essence, the more you can use the supercharger (below 2500 rpm) instead of the turbocharger, the better the fuel economy. On a perfectly flat (or even downhill) route, using the cruise control, it's obviously at its best, and by this I mean the results are significantly better than "normal" day to day driving. Or to put it another way, the difference between best and worst fuel economy seems far greater than the Focus's variations.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS
The wife's Monte Carlo 77TSi 5sp manual averages around the 5.6 - 5.8lt per 100k. This consists of mostly motorway driving with around 20% used around town. Driven as normal with the odd occasional hard accelerating when merging etc. This is also with 17's on.
