Good results I think! Was the Polo a 3 or 5 door?

The VW Polo GTI was always a shoe-in, because $27790 represents great value for car that can go as fast as it does.

But in terms of sheer driving thrills, I still don't think you can do better than a RS Megane or a BMW 1M. And also because these two really give the more expensive machinery a run for their money.

Interesting the 86 is ranked so lowly and the Fabia is 2nd. i will have to grab the magazine tomorrow but I suspect the Fabia failed to hit 1st spot because it needs to be 2-3k cheaper than the Polo given it's previous generation platform, lack of bling and standard eqipment compared to the Polo. NFI about the 86 though - I'm intrigued!!!

It's a good read...get a copy and yes the price between RS and GTi is not great enough... although the prices they quote are not really real world and try getting a Polo GTi at Retail without waiting almost a year! Well 6 months anyway.

Fabia RS... well up for the task to me.

86 needs more go but has a pleasing chassis... like we all knew!

Having purchased an RS for $27k on the road (trade-in on another car on the low side, so the dealer got some back), I'd say it out-bangs the Polo bang for buck, since the same dealer has little budge on $33k for an equivalent Polo. Anyway, I'm happy with the performance I got for my bucks.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS
