We knew it would happen sooner or later, but today it was confirmed (in a media report - the Herald's Drive section) that Skoda Australia has stopped importing Roomsters. The only stock left are they only ones available to buy, unfortunately. I've also heard that Skoda has only sold something like 7 Roomsters all year, which is such a shame, because Roomsters are such fantastic little cars and I guess that the single-minded majority of Australians just didn't get the concept. I also blame a lack of standard equipment, the somewhat crappy engine/tranny combos and Skoda's total lack of advertising towards the Roomster (I've only ever seen one ad ever for the Roomster), even thought it was a finalist in Wheels Car of the Year 2007.
Hopefully the facelifted version will be re-imported by Skoda Aus sometime in the future, maybe, eventually when the Fabia arrives. A 1.2TSI/1.6TDI with 5-speed manuals/6/7-DSGs would be a good range
