    Belegur's Fabia RS

    Greetings all...

Some of you Skoda owners may have bumped into me recently on here in other posts/threads.

I thought I'd setup a proper thread for my Fabia RS, as I begin to personalize it a little.

Fortunately I was at the dealer when the truck arrived to deliver my RS! See the first link below for a couple of quick iPhone shots when it was fresh off the truck, and another on collection day in the garage at home.

The weather turned overcast during my drive home on day one, but cleared up nicely the following day. I took some time to bond with the RS by giving it a wash and took some better shots with the SLR...

Today I decided to de-badge the rear hatch by removing the Fabia and RS badges. If you're interested in doing this, and have just bought or about to purchase a new car, I would suggest doing it soon after collection. I've had my car only a week, and the removal was very easy. All I required was a little heat from my girls hairdryer, some fingernails, and a small bit of bug & tar remover. Because the car was new nearly all the adhesive came off with the badges, leaving just a small outline of gunk to remove. I just simply cleaned the area around the badges beforehand with a damp cloth, and afterwards wiped it off with the same cloth to remove any excess tar remover. The whole process took about 10 leisurely minutes. Results can be seen at the link below.

Stay tuned for stage two of my personalization within the next week or two.

    Cheers!

Cool! I was wondering about this. Another idea was replacing the standard front and back logo badges with the new silver badge then maybe blacking it out. Any other ideas?

I'm getting the black top grille frame. It's the same colour as the black around your pillars and mirror tops.

Do you mean just the surround or the whole grille? I've been trying to source the honeycomb grille to match the lower half.

Super Skoda has one but says it is pre facelift and not for RS models.

Yes, just the surround. I agree the mesh-style grille would be cool, but then again the "moustache" grille is a Skoda trademark. You wouldn't see too many people remove a BMW grille even though that isn't the most appealing look on the market.

Moustache Grille - love it ! - I never thought about it like that. It just reminded me of the old fishface grill from the AU Falcon.

What about some links to where you're sourcing your stuff? - I got some Euro stuff, but some places won't post here.

Bit off topic, and you guys are probably giving the new cars a bit of stick, but how many km's distance from a tank are you getting in the VRS's please?

    Belegur's Fabia RS

I'm getting about 8L / 100k's so far. But I'm deliberately varying my revs, using manual to change up and down instead of relying on the brakes, and applying the right foot generously. Although I am limiting myself to around 5000rmp for now. I'll be doing this until I hit 1500km's and then gradually increase the rpm over the next 1000km's before unleashing the little thing completely
