    Advice on purchasing a 2015 Fabia 66TSI? :)

    Hey guys!

Just joined here I've been looking at buying a 2015 Skoda Fabia Manual on finance, the base model is $16,000 here in Perth I believe on road costs are included, I have $6000 to put straight towards the car, I'm wanting to get the color concept package added on, I was looking at getting either Sprint Yellow (no extra cost) or Rally Green ($500 extra), not sure if the color concept package was the $1300 one with led lights, black rims, black mirrors, tinted windows and black roof? That's the package I was looking at getting extra

Any tips on what accessories I should get, I'm thinking a bonnet protector and headlight protectors and also why I should or shouldn't purchase this car I'm still tossing up and I'm going to test drive it today and will be looking at some other cars too including the Polo but I prefer the look of the Fabia.

I'm learning to drive manual currently, I have my auto licence so driving a manual I will need to drive with someone as my supervisor until I repass my driving test I have my Green P Plates in Western Australia.
I was also wondering if the sunroof was a extra on the 66TSI I know it can be added but I wasn't sure it it was on the 66TSI or just the higher up models I believe it's around $1000 extra.

I'm also wondering if cruise control can be added because I was talking to someone today and he mentioned something about it being added for about $700 extra but I haven't come across this?

I currently drive a 2004 Mazda 3 Maxx Sedan but I'm wanting to upgrade to a newer manual, hopefully a Fabia would be reliable I'm a little reluctant but also considering getting a extra 2 years of warranty!

If anyone here has bought the Fabia I'd love to hear prices people have gotten also and how much of a wait on delivery times also! Thanks

Their a great little car. Perhaps ensure your loan is well within your budget.
I had the sunroof fitted on my 2013 - took 6 months for delivery...

Personally, I don't believe in buying motor cars on finance unless you can claim it as a tax deduction or the interest rate is ridiculously low- it's just a losing game.

    Headlight & bonnet protectors I wouldn't get - I'd prefer a clear wrap.

I doubt the Fabia would be more reliable than the Maz3 but you never know.

Is the Fabia still hobbled with the 5 speed? (Polo is 6 sp isn't it?)

There's a yellow Demo (180km) in WA on Carsales with colour concept, travel pack & 5 years warranty for $17k drive away which doesn't sound like they are doing huge favours for you. Aim for another 5%-10% off. It's a buyers market for those things.

Yeah I will I figured I'll only have to be paying about $75 per week which will be easy! I'm getting $13,000 finance I think.
Oh wow, I wouldn't mind waiting for delivery but the only thing I'm worried about is if I wait will I have to pay on road costs?

On roads? Don't know sorry. I got mine on a lease and that was all taken care of. Guess it depends what you agree to in your contract.

I usually wouldn't get finance but I can't be bothered waiting ages to save up for it, I'd be getting a variable rate car loan with commonwealth bank most likely, I'm going to check what Skoda Finance is like though also.
I probably will have a look at the accessories list and suss it out
It's the 5 speed manual correct! I saw that one for $17,000 it's actually at the dealer I'm going to so I'll have a look today, I decided I'm getting the Yellow I think because it's cheaper and I see less yellow cars around, I still love the green though!
I'm hoping for 5% off but I'm not sure because it's a new model!

I'll ask my dealer today I'm hoping to get a 24 hour test drive, I'm test driving the auto one though at the moment because I haven't driven a manual in ages and it's in a heaps busy area If I like it I'll test drive the manual.

One thing to note at the moment is that they are running a promotion with free on-roads till the end of the year - because of that, don't expect too much movement, unless you are ordering something that is in stock right now.

As for the financing argument, as long as you are within your means, no issue - especially on a relatively low figure such as this. Just make sure your financing includes the whole package on the road.

Yeah I figured that I'm thinking I'd be happy with $17500, I did see the exact car I actually want on the lot and it's being used for test drives also so maybe I can get a discount on that!
I'd only be getting $11000-$12000 finance.

Just a note on dealer demo stock - be aware that the demo cars may be MY15, rather than customer cars which should all be MY16. The older model misses out on CarPlay/Android Auto as well as front sensors and a couple of other things which escape me now. So if you're looking to buy demo stock, you definitely shouldn't pay retail.
