    What spark plugs?

I have been searching the internet including such places as Supercheap Autos site and cannot find a definative answer on the spark plugs needed for my car. A Bosch or NGK part number would be good... anyone got a suggestion, I think my plugs need replacing with my next oil change. On that topic, i bought 10w 30 Oil (5 litre) for the car... is this the right one? My manual speaks about oil in some strange language that does not relate to the X x X series.... so,

    Plugs?
Oil - type and quantity please

    Oil needs to be 5W30 504/507 VW-approved.

It would probably help if you said what engine you have..

Oil should have VW 504/507 approval if you want to cover all the bases. You can get away with 502 (I assume you have a petrol engine if you want spark plugs). Which 10w-30 did you buy? Could you be a bit specific as Supercheap probably carry about 12 different types of 10w-30.

Spark plugs are due at 60,000km (and even that is early on some of them

    Short answer is NO.
The oil should have VW approval at least VW 502.00
but ideally you should really use WV504.00/507.00

I have sigs turned off - I'm not interested in reading that somebody has modded their interior with a patchouli scented air freshener.

    That's the incorrect oil.

If that's a 1.8tsi (same engine as mine) then the correct Valvoline oil is Synpower XL-III 5w-30.

According to the service book, the 1.8tsi has a spark plug change interval of 90,000km. According to the VW shops, it's 60k.
I've done mine at both intervals & they looked the same so it's up to you.

I bought Denso IK22 Iridium Power spark plugs the last time I changed them. They were $53 posted off eBay but the dollar has dropped since then - $63 seems to be the rate now

    Thanks Chaps...

Thank you one and all for advice and Input. Special thanks to Brad, I have ordered the plugs he has suggested. I have learned a lot in my first few days on this forum in regards to protocol and manners. Will attempt to be a more useful member in the future.
