Saw a white TDI model at Richmond Skoda yesterday that someone had just taken out for a test drive. First white car I've liked the look of in quite some time.
Lots of billboards in SYD for the Superb Wagon.
The June issue of the "Australian Way" Qantas inflight magazine has an article on Skoda in general - a flattering article at that.
Also, I was looking at Top Gear 2009 car of the year magazine (or something like that) at the hairdressers the other day and, I know it's old news, but the Superb was luxury car of the year.

SMH Drive today compares the Superb wagon to the Commodore Sportswagon. Superb comes out on top!

Holden Sportwagon v Skoda Superb Wagon
Nice review... About as informative as picking up the brochures for both cars and thumbing through them...
But you know what they say... any publicity is good publicity...
Not really - the brochures are more accurate. 118TSI is 2.0L? I don't think so. Same engine as my car = 1.8L.
Interesting what they say about the Holden. I was driving the wife's VE Calais today (a car that I detest). I'm not sure if it's exactly the same engine as the base model but it actually got quite a reasonable note to it when pushed beyond 4500rpm. Sounds shocking between 2500rpm-4500rpm but get stuck in & it's pretty tuneful. Lack of low down torque - seemed OK but the throttle needs a good poke. Wife test drove a petrol Mondeo today & said it was "more powerful", which it wasn't but that's her way of saying it had more grunt off the lights.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
