I assume the 2.0 turbo in the Superb caption is an error? Gets a better review but I wonder if it leads to a change in buying habits?

People often tell me my 118TSI goes really well for a 2.0L
Based on RRP, the Skoda probably wins but who pays RRP for a Commodore?

Trouble is even if people did look at the Superb wagon as a competitor to the Comode wagon they d run a mile when told of a 3-5 month wait. In the local GMH yard they d have a choice of 5 or more to pick from.
2014 MY14 Corrida Red Elegance Wagon TDI
2009 MY10 Race Blue RS Wagon TSI 6 sp. manual. (Gone)
2011 MY12 Yeti 77 TSI DSG.
That is always going to be a problem for your standard Australian.
Until Skoda can get a draw down pool in the country for the dealers we are always going to get Commonwhores (my daughters expression) winning even though they may be an inferior vehicle.
Come on Skoda Australia look into this seriously if you want to make a mark on the country.

I notice they did not compare fuel consumption figures. Probably would have made the comparo look completely one sided and ridiculous.
Suprisingly, the Commodore is pretty good on fuel. The wife's CalaisV averages ~11L/100 and that's driving peak hour Hurstville-Ryde most days (22km takes 50-80mins). That's running on ULP e10, so 95ron would probably improve it slightly. Under similar conditions, running on 95ron, the Superb would probably get 9L/100. Commodore has more grunt but it comes a bit higher up the rev range than the 1.8TSI.
