99 out of 100 potential buyers including dealers won't know its there and wont miss it not having the umbrella will subtract exactly $0 from the resale price.

It is far from a new concept though, my RB Gemini SL/E had extra large front door pockets with drains specifically designed for wet umbrellas. I used to tip the ice cubes out of my takeaway drink cup into them

The centre consoles between the front seats of the early 1980s Jeeps I used to sell were both insulated and had a one way drain (like a dirt bike air filter box) and were sized so you could fit 1/2 dozen cans of beer and a small packet of ice from the Supermarket.
I have a funny feeling early Nissan Patrols may have had a similar arrangement. As the ice melted it simply drained out the bottom of the vehicle onto the transfer case and then the road.
