I still say it's far too long to wait for normal, average, everyday consumables such as bumpers, tail lights, head lights and other items which are in high demand. These parts should be readily available. Can anyone assist me with what tools should be in the tool kit in the boot? I have an elegance sedan and need to know if anything is missing. All I need is a close up photo of the tool kit. I went to a dealer but they didn't have any Superbs in stock. Can anyone assist?

This is what is in our 4/12 build 118tsi Elegance. At about 9 o'clock little plastic "thingy".Use ??? 10 o'clock plastic tweazers. Fuse pullers??? jack and handle, wheel wrench. 2 o'clock, Allen key?? Used for ??, 3 o'clock, metal loop with a short right angle tail (tail not in image) Used for ??? Towing eye bolt.
Seems to be a few M/T slots, either missing or maybe used for different spare wheel arrangements or models with no spare at all and maybe temporary inflation products?
Should add ours was not new, had been VAG fleet car for a few months so possibility that some parts could be missing however I would think unlikely.
    Hope this helps.

No tools as far as I know

    Should be:
    widowmaker jack
    wheel brace
    locknut
    plastic nut cap puller

recomend you get a 14x1.5 (??) 100mm bolt, chop the head off & chamfer it. makes fit/unfit of wheels much easier

I have an MY13 built September 2012. It has a sun roof. I'm assuming it has a sun roof closer when battery is flat. There's a spot that looks like a screw driver should fit...but none supplied. I can't find that "Plastic Thingy" at 9 o'clock. I don't think I've ever heard of a Jack being called a window maker Brad but I will be careful with it. Not sure now as to whether I have a few items missing. It sort of looks similar to yours notflyingscot, but I also agree, it looks like items are missing in action. I've just had minor damage to my rear bumper fixed and I hope some little apprentice hasn't scampered off or forgoten to put items back in my tool kit??? Many thanks for the reply guys. Very Prompt and professional.

The VW jacks are a shocker. Only use them on a flat, solid surface.

Not all the items in the photo will necessarily be in your kit.

    jack - yes
    wheel bolt spanner - yes

The big plastic tweazers are for removing the solid-end plastic wheel nut caps. If you haven't got plastic wheel nut caps then you don't need this.

The round wire loop with the short right angle tail is for removing either an Audi style wheel cap that covers the wheel nuts & centre hub or the VW Golf style plastic wheel bolt covers with the hole in the middle. If you haven't got a wheel cap or bolt caps with holes, you don't need this.

I have no idea what the allen key looking thing is for.

Is there something about manual sunroof retraction in the owners manual?

look in page 217 of the owners manual. It lists all the things included in the tool kit.

There's nothing about manual sunroof retraction

    Many thanks Brad,

That URL to the owners manuel is very cool. Much easier to read on my computer rather than book itself. OK, my vehicle came with Passat CC style alloys so I'm assuming I don't need any of those wheel nut cover pulling tools. And how right you are with the Jack...it sort of does a balancing trick when the car is raised. Page 53 of the manuel mentions about the allen key which is used to close the sun roof during an emergency or when battery is flat. It's used to manually wind the motor back and is poked into a hole where the sunglass holder is. (Not that my sunglasses would ever fit there)

    Cheers and thanks

Tool kits today are becoming a bit of a joke really. I guess there isn't much a driver can actually do to their car except change a tyre (if you have a spare). When on a long trip away from home I take my motorcycle tyre repair kit just in case I puncture a tyre AND the spare. This actually happened on a previous Audi when I ruined 2x Michelin Pilots on a stretch of fast dirt road in South Australia. My new BMW bike came with a double ended screwdriver and that was it!! Sum total of tool kit. For an extra $230 I purchased the optional "mechanic's tool kit" which is probably capable of completely disassembling the bike.
