    romaniac Skoda Superb

    Hello

Following the advice from bluefrog, thought I would start a thread detailing the changes to my Skoda Superb.

So to start off, I purchased a new 2011 MY12 Skoda Superb late last year, I had to wait a month or so for it to arrive from Europe and picked up delivery for the car just before Xmas.

The car was a Candy White 125TDI Saloon version with MDI and KESSY as the only 2 options. I was lucky enough to find the car I wanted in the specified colour and options that was already on a boat bound for Australia hence I didn't have to wait the 6 month+ !! I made sure it was a MY12 model since the bluetooth came standard and it also came with front parking sensors.

I didn't take a photo of the car after I got it but it looked like a standard Superb, pretty much like this

I then decided, as with all the cars I've had!, to make some changes and modify it. First of all I bought a boot lip spoiler from ebay

Tinted the windows all round and added H&R Springs 40mm with H&R Front and Rear Sway bars. This really improved the handling of the car, firmed up the ride and whilst you can feel the bumps a little more, the pro's far outweigh the negatives. Here's a few pics of the car after these mods were fitted:

Then decided to change the wheels to something a little different whilst still maintaining a standard looking feel. I choose the Passat CC wheels since in 18" and with 225/40/18 tyres and had them fitted. I think they work well with the suspension, here are some pics:

The other mods I have planned are REVO stage 1 tune which should be getting fitted next week and possibly a DSG tune. Other than that I haven't planned anything else unless I get some inspiration! This is defiantly the best car I've had and I've enjoyed it from day 1, the build quality is excellent. Also the fact that you don't seem many on the road make it even better, I've had a few people ask me what car that is.

Anyway, let me your feedback or suggestions and look forward to meeting some of you in the near future.

    Thanks guys

Well I don't have good news regarding the tune. I left the car at Audvolks last night as my ECU is a new one with protection on it and the tune can't be applied through the ODB port, the ECU needs to be taken out to be tuned. Unfortunately with mine when the ECU was taken out, Raymond noticed the casing was hard to pry open, the reason being the silicon glue around the casing has been over applied and has dried onto the circuit board leaving him no way of getting around the ECU lock. It looks like the only option is to purchase another ECU and give it to Audvolks, however that may be a very expensive option. Doesn't look like I'll be able to tune my car

latest update, one of the rear speakers blew so decided to replace all the speakers with Focal 3 ways in front and components in rear plus add a 10" sub in the rear. Getting it installed next week and will post up some pics afterwards. Should be a big improvement on factory sound.
