Roadtrip! (or Do my guts look nice on this?)

I’ve always wondered where all the Superbs hide and now I know. They all hide in Canberra.
From the minute I got there, to the trip home, I just kept seeing them. One short trip near the botanical gardens netted three specimens. I even pulled up at some lights behind one. All of them were the previous model, but that doesn’t discount the sightings.

Speaking of road trips, here are some figures for comparative purposes.

The pouring rain on Saturday morning gave way to a bug fest. Yellow goes well with the blue, don’t you think?

Canberra or the Southern Highlands, it would seem. This weekend I spent at my mothers, and every second car was a Skoda of some varying description. Was a nice change from the Oh What A Feeling's I see every other day.
Not bad economy, but what were you doing to make the GreenScore hate you?
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
    1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
    1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
    Not including hers...

Most of the "Since refuelling" score was ACC controlled cruise. I wanted to get the hang of using it. The "Long-term" score is much workshop idling time.

Heh funny I just got back from road tripping too and have a similarly bug splattered Superb picture... my economy was almost identical too - i didn't take a shot of the car info page but if you add the range to empty to the distance travelled in my photo you see it very much matches up with yours. I think from memory it averaged out to 7.7ish over 800km.

Washing cars isn't really my thing.... haven't done it for years! Doesn't help that I don't have off street parking so I would have to wash it on the street.

When you do a road trip/camping/long drive 4 hrs or more for 4 adults with full load on the boot (camping gears plus cooking utilities, probably not equivalent to 4 large baggage size or 120kg), what tyre pressure do you set for your front and rear tyres when cold?

The recommendation for 5 adults and 5 bags shows 39psi front and 43 rear.

Currently my 162tsi wagon set by dealer I think 37psi.

    Tyre size 235/40/R19.

    Thanks for sharing.
