looks like a nice exhaust! Bet it sounds great!
OH my what a difference that made. Stainless Mandrel bent/end on end tig welds. 1/2 the weight of the factory with a 10 yr warranty to boot!
In the pics have a look at the crushed pipe work from the factory, This is seriously poor, and the fact that the dealership mechanics never commented proves my thoughts about that dealerships level of capabilities. ( but get this, it seems this is normal on the Skoda V6) I have checked with one other V6 Superb owner and it seems that the flattened exhaust is part of the standard build. Probably part of the detuning to 191kw from the R36 Spec.
Not impressed Skoda, restrictive exhausts increase fuel consumption. I've already seen an average drop in consumption.
inside the exhaust there are restrictions like you would not believe..
Everything responds quickly now.. and it sounds great.. some pics to start and Ill do a sound profile tomorrow from down the oval.
Lovely new rear end look.. just a little flash of Stainless under the rear.
Wonderful end to end mandrel bends attached to the straight on pip from the factory cat converters and exhaust sensors.
And now the end to end seam welded Mandrel bent pipe with splitter to the rear mufflers.
This is the link to the album with some vid footage at the exhaust shop and 0-110 acceleration after the exhaust.

Is the factory stainless steel? For some reason I assumed it was as our last two mazdas were, people used to always pull them off and replace them with crappier grade than stock, and then regret it later on. I would have thought for the price they would be on skodas as well.
Nope, the factory exhausts on most cars are not Stainless as it cant be easily bent, welded, stamped etc. All the pipping on most cars are a rust restistant coated 2mm cold drawn seamless pipe.
Stainless has to be bent with specific tools, especially 304 which is really light and strong. But it has a tendancy to grow, in other words over the length of my system it will grow about 2cm as it heats up. Just protudes the tips a bit more.
I went for Mandrel bends where ever possible too as to reduce any obstructions to the flow.
After the cruise home yesterday, theres no noticeable drone, it has a wicked BLIP between the gears now when the revlimiter/DSG shift occurs ( BOOF sound, out the exhaust ) and id easily say that the power has gone up as my 0-100 has dropped by nearly a full second. Did a few tests on the Federal highway... accelerating up to 110k car seems very happy now.
Theres a vid of that on flirk now.
