    front seats?

Can someone tell me what is covered by the plastic covers mounted on the floor under both driver and passenger seats visible looking from the front floorwells?
Passenger seat has a vented cover, driver side appears to be a solid cover.
Model is 4/2012 build Elegance 118 TSI if that is relevant.
Separate question. What is the standard spec of the sound system on these models? Was there an upgraded system optional and if so how does one identify if it is fitted. I do know I do not have any CD stacker (but no problem with 30Gb of disc space to load up!).

i'd say one is the Bluetooth unit, while the other is the audio amplifier.

    as for sound system -
basic/standard - "Bolero". no sat nav or built-in hdd.
upgrade/option - "Columbus". sat nav with hdd.

the columbus was made std from MY12 models I believe.
MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

My Superb(MY11) Ambition has a 6 stacker cd unit too, as part of the Bolero setup. Under my front seats on the passenger side is a slide out compartment(I'm storing the car manual in there atm), and on the drivers side..nothing. I don't have the electric seats though.

Suspected the vented one under passenger might be sound system related, either an amp or a sub woofer type device.
Certainly did not suspect driver's side could be anything to do with Bluetooth. Given that we have Bluetooth in tiny phones and tablets did not expect that would require that amount of physical space?
Car came with the Columbus head unit. Query was based on reading in some Superb brochures about "optional ???w sound system" but that seemed to be as much info they were providing.

the bluetooth unit used by VAG is certainly not small. it looks like this, and may vary slightly depending on which module is fitted in urs.

as for the optional sound system, that would explain the amp under the other seat.
the superb had this option. the octavia (oz spec) didn't

Tks for the feedback. Had no idea Bluetooth connectivity involved so much hardware. Can understand why it found a home on the floor.
