Get your battery checked out.
Anyone seen this problem? Twice in the last week the Skoda Superb has had the alarm activated.. Flashing lights, sounds, the whole nine yards. Problem is it is locked in our garage and very safe. To top it off, this has happened at 0300 and 0430.... great way to get woken up.
Any Suggestions, Dodgy Sensor??? etc
Thanks

Get your battery checked out.
okay.... will do... thanks a lot
Most alarms will have a beep code that will tell you what sensor has triggered. This is heard when you deactivate the triggered event.
On my Hiace, it was the bonnet sensor that was the culprit. It was installed at such an angle that when the temperature dropped, the pnunger would shrink enough to set the switch.
hmmm ok.. thanks wai....

Thank you AALocksmiths for your timely advice
No worries. I don't suppose when they swapped the battery they tested to see how many amps your car is draining when OFF? I know some VAG cars have issues with battery draining caused from an issue with the CAN-BUS as well as accessories fitted to the car. It might be something that has contributed to the death of your battery.
no... they didnt do that... i had the alarm go off on New Years eve whilst it was parked in a friends driveway.....I hope this isnt the start of something annoying....

It's an '09, probably '08-built car, so it was probably due for a battery anyways.
But you are right though, there are CAN-bus issues out there that do cause the same symptoms of flat batteries. Most of these will draw enough current to flatten it overnight, and continue to do it until the fault is rectified.
