    In fact it had an NRMA battery in it that i replaced.. the Factory battery was long gone

    do you know the oil capacity for my car? I believe its 4.5 litres ? Can you confirm that?

    Interesting info - and likely the reason why my car used to run the battery flat (or near flat) when i didn't drive it for 7-10 days......my P3 gauge which plugs into the OBD-II port must have been slowly draining power.

    Press the lock button twice (which will disarm the interior motion sensors) and see if this stops your alarm going off. My Mk6 Golf used to do the same thing (and always at 2am of course) even though the car was all closed up and in my carport.

    I think its about 4.3L or thereabouts in the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines - your owners manual will confirm. I always have around 0.5L left from a 5L container after doing an oil change.

    just wanted to make sure my mechanic put enough oil in at the change.... will try the lock button twice trick... see if that helps... thanks

    Wouldnt you find out if you pulled the dipstick out.

    Yep... but not always so easy as for some reason Skoda (VW) make the dipstick black so as to make it hard to read in some light. Why they dont make it stainless steel silver (like it used to be) is beyond me.

    Pull it out wipe it off put it back pull it out and if you cant see run your finger down from above till you feel it Dont need much light to get a glint off the liquid
