Air intake mod who has done it?

Ok as per the topic title has anyone here done the air intake mod to there Superb? I know people over on the Octavia forum and the VW golf forum has posted they have done it. Just wonder if anyone who has a superb 162 or 206 has done it and did you notice any difference. I want to go ahead and cut out the front right hand side but am not sure about blanking the left hand inner, as i have read some say the opening is there to cool an oil cooler? Please share your thoughts. I dont want to talk about pod filters ect just want to keep the clean factory look.

I’ve done it.

Did I notice the difference? Not really. But atleast I know I’ve done what I can to maximise the stock intake.

I’ve also put the blanking plate in to the engine side of the intake air duct.

Did you get the blanking plate from VW Aus or online. I ve seen them on Ebay for around $26 but the freight was another $16. Away with work at the moment so havent tried VW Aus for a price.

Bought it off eBay for around $30 delivered. VW can order it in but they wanted closer to $50.

Search by the part number you should get it for less than $30 delivered

I bought from a similar seller. Took 4-5 weeks as they don’t actually have the part in stock, they order on your behalf then post once it’s received, which will take 2 weeks or so from Europe using standard air mail.

Im home for 4wk break so if it arrives while im home all good if not next break. Only have put 300 klms on the car so if anything it will give me more of a chance to see if there is any differenece from stock? Im hoping for a little more induction sound and a little response from accelerator ?

I found a slightly quicker spool on the turbo and a little more torque but was used to it in 2 or 3 weeks and did not notice it anymore after that

Ok so I did the Pikey R600 mod, and didnt really notice any difference as mentioned above. Very happy with the job i did nice and neat. Took about 2 hrs as i wanted a stock look. Just waiting now on the blanking piece. Need to look at wifes Kodiaq as it looks like it has the same intake but the intake looks like it maybe on the right hand side? Just need to lift the cover piece when she gets home.
On another note i fitted the BMS pedal tuner. Now that mad a difference. Just switching from stock to the first setting you could feel the responsiveness straight away. Got it on first setting (green) plus 2. Car feels like it should from factory. Did an obd11 scan no faults.

Ok can confirm wife Kodiaq air intake box is identical to Superbs and most likely ever other VAG car?
One thing on the Superb is i csn not see where the air is picked up on the front side of intake box? I have noticed on mk7.5 golf r that there are some slots over the front grill shroud . this would allow air to flow into the intake box.?
