Not if the workshop is 100% booked for retail which is the normal thing these days. Done right they can make a profit on warranty but in my experience very few dealers do.

I will escalate to Skoda Australia if they do not look at badge issue(s) as I have seen defects and warranty fixed mentioned in the forum.

Not sure the white spotted thing but have a go at it and take pic to Skoda Australia.

I had my compartment trim fixed and bunch of cBus cables soldered (this stopped my rear passenger door completely into a halt due to incomplete cBus communcations) over 1k to fix which my dealer needs (and reluctantly) to claim via Skoda (new car) factory extended warranty under Allianz. I even got ask to pay an arm and a leg just to do diagnosis until I got my warranty party (Allianz) agreed to pay 1-2 hours of labor for inspection. At the end, the authorization went through and the dealer got the money.

However, it may be a different story if it is under the 3yrs originally warranty where the dealer have to suck up the labor cost thus the parts covered by the factory (Skoda Australia) once confirmed the fault due to manufacturing process.

I don't follow this, can you explain more fully, CBUS is only two cables, one high and one low.

My bad, It is the CAN BUS cables connecting to the comfort module.

That is the wiring harness for the rear twin door? It is a fairly common fault and I guess it is why they dropped the idea in the new car, it was more of a gimmick than a useful feature.

Can't agree that it was just gimmicky. When I'm just shopping, pop the conventional boot and it's any easy reach to close the boot again. When I'm taking my bike to races, can open the full hatch to easily load the bike. I might think differently if I ever get the wiring issues I understand some owners experience!

And if you open the whole hatch you can do the lot, I liked the quirkiness but it was never more than a gimmick in reality.Everyone I showed it to was amazed then puzzled as to the why of it. I have hardly ever used the half boot opening, I just never saw the point and it is using it frequently which causes the wiring loom issue I suspect. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Not really, That's the wire harness between the door and side panel which inherited from VW anyway

The way to fix it (replace) properly is to disassemble the whole door that's why the stealer charged 3hours (1.5 hours actual work, 0.5 hours coffee and chatting plus 1 hours margin)

I have been at the end of one of Deutsche Parts deals and will never give them another dollar, in fact if I ever go to the UK I will be visiting the place for a discussion about a complete refund which they refused to give when their badly packed parts were damaged in shipping.
