Windscreen washer pump not working for front only

    Hi all,

My windscreen washer pump isn't working for the front windscreen only. I've tried to read as much as possible, and have performed tests, but nothing seems to relate to the washer pump not working for the front windscreen only.

    • When the wiper stalk is pulled an held back, relay clicks once, rear wiper starts going (from memory, I don't think the rear wiper should activate.) The pump does not activate as there is no sound, so it's not a leak.
    • Front wipers do perform as normal when stalk is pushed up through different modes, so I can use them perfectly fine in the rain.
    • When stalk is pushed forward, washer pump activates for rear window, rear wipers activate as normal.

I've checked fuses. I kept reading to check fuse 42, but have checked them all anyway, and I have tested the relay (DWP-H, 404).
The pump works fine for the rear window and the stalk seems to be fine as I can hear the relay click each time.
Finally, as the wipers operate, the car knows the bonnet is closed to allow operation.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I will add, I think this happened after I changed the RHF headlight assembly, could this be linked in any way? I know the wiring for the pump is nearby, but if I'd have damaged any wiring you'd think the pump wouldn't work at all.

Have you got power and ground at the pump, when you're switching the stalk?

Well, after testing power at the pump and reinstalling it, it all just started working again.
